Greg started employment at Talbots in early 1983, in a junior cadet role. As a young professional driven to thrive in his various roles, he moved through his studies completing his undergraduate degree, training and roles in the firm to become a Chartered Accountant in 1991 and then be offered Partnership in 1994.
Greg has always sought to use his professional knowledge to bring different perspectives to his daily work and client engagements. Having always been interested in the use of IT in our work, for example, Greg led Talbots’ involvement with the very first pilot project for the electronic lodgement of income tax returns undertaken by the Australian Taxation Office back in 1991.
From a family background in small business on the NSW Central Coast, Greg has always understood the motivations, difficulties and challenges faced in small and medium business. It is in the simplification of difficult concepts, the ability to explain and communicate the issues faced by the client and then together finding and implementing optimum solutions that Greg finds the most professional fulfillment.
Greg’s client portfolio is diverse and his range of experience in the small and medium business sector is extensive. From his first client engagement was as a junior audit team member, to his finest achievements in the role of Chairman of a client enterprise comprising the then-largest privately owned national print media group, each engagement receives undivided attention and relentless commitment to the quality of our work, service and advice.
Away from work Greg is devoted to his family and community interests. A family that includes two teenage children has ensured plenty of opportunity for involvement over the years in various community activities like scouting and Little Athletics, providing voluntary professional help to organizations including Out of School Hours (OOSH) groups, school P & Cs. Apart from playing tennis and going to the beach he also enjoys participating in netball, rugby and cricket with his family.
